Bonne fête Papa !

Notre coeur nous dit

Qu'aujourd'hui, c'est fête
Mais quelle fête ?
La fête des Mamans ? Non !
On t'aime tellement fort !

Papa was so excited to drive the owner type jeep of my Lolo Dani (the brother of my true Lola Rosie in Pinas)! Imagine we drove going to the city and we have crossed the rough roads. It's like we were competing in RALLY (in Africa) ! There was also the river but it wasn't deep at all. Next time, if I am able and big enough to drive this car I will ;-)

strange but funny

I was barely 4 months old when I needed to sleep inside a suitcase!!! Yes, you've heard it right ! It happpened when my Papa needed to attend a 4 days conference in Paris. Since Maman wanted to visit Paris too we went together with him while Papa was away busy working ;-) which was a good opportunity. The hotel where we checked in, unfortunately did not have a crib or even a small bed. But you know how brilliant mothers are :). She had an excellent idea of putting me here ! Imagine, I still have a large space and I still can move inside and look how I slept peacefully without any worries at all.

We spent our New Year 2005 with FrancoPhil friends in Les Hopitaux View, Les Doubs (near the Swiss Border ). Since they live in the mountain, we decided to go skiing the whole day. I still don't know how to ski but it was also a chance for me to begin at 3 years old. Afterall, my Papa was there to teach me. But the thing is, I do not have the ski outfit.....and yes again I did not have a choice! But to wear this !

I suppose you know that this is a ski combination for girls! I did not have a choice because Tita Sarah has a 4 year old daughter and it was her ski combination that she used when she was my age. Do I have a choice ? No, because it was freezing cold out there !!! Do I need to protest ! Again, no because because that was the only available suit that fits me ! What was funny, when a Mom just beside us was teaching her daughter to ski (my case with my Papa) and she was telling her daughter "Regarde mon couer comment la petite fille faire le ski avec l'aide de son père" (sabay turo po sa kin, eh nakasuot ba naman ako ng lavander).

do I have a choice?

This photo was taken ten days ago. Just trying and starting to wean her. So I am giving her a milk compliment, which I am sure that she wil not be very happy about it. Look at her, she was thinking if she will going to take the bottle of milk I gave her or she will insists on breastfeeding! I guess, it will be going to be a big job and it will not be very easy for both of us. Breastfeeding is perfect because baby and mother grow to love and appreciate each other. Theres the feeling of closeness while breastfeeding. Baby feels secured while being nursed. But somehow theres always an end to everything and the battle continues. Today is her 11th day of refusal ! Whenever she insists and claims to be nursed she's trying to tuck her hand under my shirt searching. Though my heart is melting because of pity while she cries..... kailangan ko syang tiisin !

training day !

This is my son Sébastien ( we fondly call him Basti - ala Pinoy baga ). This video was taken during his training when he was almost 2 years old....ha ha ha. Just trying to figure out if he can manage to eat alone. And well, I guess you can tell me how independent he was. Actually he was eating couscous I made. He seems to like it that is why I prefer to make his food and not buying at all of this "ready to eat" that we can always and easy to find in the groceries.

Mayumi turns 1

I've come to realized that time is running so quickly. One year ago, I was just waiting for my little girl to be born but look at her now, she's grown up and celebrating her first birthday. She walks, she has 8 teeth, she starts to imitate some words and she's a bit naughty !

Normally Filipinos celebrate birthdays flamboyantly like organizing party in Mc Donalds or Jollibee, others will make it a simple gathering with family, relatives and friends just like I did ! Either way, I'm sure kids will enjoy and appreciate whatever surprises it would be as long as it is laboured with love. I organized a modest celebration for my little princesse. Since we live just beside a public park
Parc des Bruyeres we decided to do it inside where there are tables and chairs already installed and playgrounds. My husband thought it would be a perfect place for the kids and they will savour and appreciate the nature. As forecasted by Meteo (weather forecast) we will have cloudy sky and a little of rainshowers which is not always true. Good thing that nature was in his perfection!

Food that I prepared myself were pansit, lumpiang shanghai, sushi, grilled saucisse (pork sausage) and my two friends brought cakes (chocolate cake and millefuille - cream puff cake) drinks, without forgetting the all time favorite Champagne for the kids (Champomy). There's also candies, chips, nuts and a botlle of wine for appetizer.

We had so much fun! Great weather, yummy foods..Lol... and nature at it's best. Thank you to you all for coming and making things possible. It was a simple celebration but a memorable one ! See you again next year ! Here are some of the pictures.
